The Henry Doorly Zoo

Tanner really enjoys going to the zoo. Andrew and I do as well. It is great and has a lot of really cool places to walk through along with the animals. Tanner doesn't like the gorilla's and will say either, "Scary monkeys" or "Scary gorilla" but loves all of the other monkeys. I think it is because the gorillas always sit next the the glass, so when we go to see them there is a big furry thing right next to Tanner starring down at him. Tanner wasn't to happy when we put him on the statue gorillas to take the picture and started shacking.

And I don't kno if you can see the bunny rabbit in the gorillas hand above, but it was alive. The gorilla was packing it around and would put it up on his back like they would a baby, it was really gentle with the bunny.... very cute!

One of my favorite places to go at the zoo is "The Jungle". I don't have any pictures because we were to excited about our surroundings. But they have rope bridges to cross, vines to walk under, it's just a very cool place to go through. We will have to take some pics to show what an awesome place it is!

Goooppy Eyes

Since we have been here Tanner has goten some bad allergies and I had to take him to the doctor. With those allergies came: Goopy eyes, runny nose, and rash that goes on and off, and an ear ache. He was put on ammoxicillon (sp?) for the eyes and ears and has since became better but still a little goopy.
While I was at the pharmacy waiting to pick up the med a guy came up behind us with two teeth, long greasy hair in a ponytail, long dirty fingernails choping down on Freitos. He asked Tanner if he wanted some, I said "no" But he gave one to him anyways and Tanner shoved it in his mouth. "YUCK" I was so disgusted. The man said "See, he likes it". He tried to give him another and I said no thanks he's ok and turned him away becuase it was time to leave. Thank goodness!

I'm a BIG BOY!!!

Tanner has been experimenting with using the potty. Usually he will just sit there for a few minutes and get up. But the other day he actually peepeed. It was sooooo exciting. He jumped up, put the seat on his head and was running around! It was pretty funny!

I don't think he will continue to go on the potty! But we will sure try and support his effort!

Right after we took this picture and started to walk towards the visitors center it started pouring rain, the wind was blowing like crazy.

It would have been tough to be a pioneer and not having anywhere to go for shelter!

The statue behind us is a husband and wife looking down at their young child they had just laid to rest and would have to leave behind. It really hit home to me, thinking that that child was about Tanner's age and how it would be so hard to go through with losing him!

The Bathroom

Our Little Home away from Home

This little brick house is what we call home. It looks a lot smaller on the outside than in. It's a little tight sometimes. Andrew and I would like to move into a big one if one opens up, but for now it will do..... and maybe it will have to do for 4 years as well. I figure that if entire families had to share a house that was only one room, that I can live in this.
It's been fun here so far and I don't regret having to move! It will be a great life experience!

The Livingroom

The front door is where I am standing, along with a coat closet. To the right of the picture is a walkway that leads to our bedroom on the right, bathroom on the left, and the basement almost straight through the walkway.
I must have forgot to copy over the bathroom pic, because I can't find it. But a bathroom is just a bathroom. The walls are painted a dark chocolate brown and has white cupboards. I like it. It's just a little small.

It doesn't look like it by the pictures, but Tanner was running around me trying to get in every picture that I was taking.

Our Bedroom

The set up I don't like at all, we have to do some rearraging and putting stuff away still. But Camille (my sister) wanted to see what the whole house looked like asap. So you get to see our messy unorganized bedroom. Hopefully we will be able to make it fill more at home with some curtains and whatever else.

Andrew says that the red walls will make us wake up angry.

But I think that I have been waking up happy in my new but smaller bed.

Our Kitchen

This is our little kitchen. It's not bad unless I am cooking a big dinner and Andrew is in trying to help and Tanner of course trying to help as well.

Then it gets a little to crowded.

In the basement

This is Tanner's room/the laundry room/ the storage room. (Hey, it's a small house... what else are we supposed to do!?)

Along came Mr. Alligator quiet as can be.... and snatched that monkey right out of that tree!!!

I really don't know or remember what made him do this face. But it sure is funny!

These two monkeys were perfect angels sitting there and didn't want to get out, they thought it was pretty cool doing what their bigger cousins are always doing.

Tanner and I stayed a night in Cedar City and spent an hour just playing on SUU's campus, here he was wrestling me down, laughing, and saying, "Get you!"

Tanner's first horse ride. He didn't want to get off once he was on, but before he got on I was trying to get him to just pet it and he wasn't so sure about letting anything furry touch him.

Tanner loves helping out whenever he can so when dad let him come up on the deck and use his own tool to help dad.... he was nothing but smiles..... in this case... CHEESE!!!!
