Halloween FHE 10/25

Our family carved two pumpkins this year. One for Benson and one for Tanner. We had one for Kensley but it didn't get carved before it got to late. We let the boys pick what the wanted to have on their pumpkins. Tanner wanted Frankenstein and actually drew the face he wanted on the pumpkin then I cut it out. Benson wanted a one eyed monster. But after it was done and lit, it scared him to get to close to it. :)
Tanner didn't really like cleaning out all the "guts". And started to fling his hand to get it off and ended up flinging it on his face. Luckily he laughed about it and quickly got it off.

We didn't tell him anything to draw. He just turned the pumpkin around and said he was done. He showed us how he had the stiches on the forhead and everything. I thought he did a really good job.

I told Benson to put his hand on the pumpkin for a picture to show that it was his. With it dark outside and the mouth with sharp teeth shining bright it gave him a bit of a fright. :)

Tanner kept crossing his legs and Andrew kept telling him to uncross them. I couldn't help but laugh.

Fall is in the air

Spooooky Children's Museum

I added the top dark picture just so you could see how dark it really was in the spooky Halloween display they had at the Children's Museum. Tanner and Benson both liked it, but Benson was a little unsure about some of the noises and things hanging around.

Benson was waiting for me to go through with him. When I didn't because I didn't want to leave Kensley, he quickly came back out.

"The Napping House"

Have you ever seen a kid fall asleep in such crazy places or positions? :)

I just recently purchased the book, "The Napping House" because I loved it as a kid. And it makes me laugh to think of Benson jumping on Tanner as he is trying to sleep and having Tanner jump up crazy.

OUCH!!

So Benson likes to sneak into Kensley's room while she is sleeping and "give" her toys to play with, filling the crib with toys. So they both were napping the other day when I hear Kensley screaming. I go upstairs and find Benson is awake and in her room putting toys in again. I pick her up and her face is all red and has an imprint on it of little lines and TOES. I look in her crib to find a little FROG. The pictures don't show it very good. But after looking at the frog then her face it was a perfect half frog imprint. So sad!

I love him to pieces!

He thinks he is pretty cool when he gets to hold Kensley while standing up. I don't really like him doing it not because I think he would drop her but that Benson would ripe her out of his hands while trying to give her a "hoog" hold/hug.

2 months old

I took Kensley in for her 2 month check up her stats:

Height: 21.75'' (26%)

Weight: 10 lb. 7 oz. (41%)

HC: 38 cm. (31%)

She had to get a bunch of shots and was not happy about it. Neither were her caring brothers who had to sit and watch her scream!

The Marshmallow test!

Have you heard of the marshmallow test? I don't know if I did the right time, and I think Benson is to young but I did it to both boys anyway. You set a marshmallow in front of them and say you can eat it now, or wait 5 minutes without eating it and I'll give you another so you'll have two. If they wait it means they will be more successful in life (or something along those lines). So I gave each boy a marshmallow and told them the rules. Benson surprised me and actually waited just over 2 minutes before devouring it. He would play with it then put it on the table and stare at it then pick it up before finally giving in. I think he did pretty good for a 2 year old. Tanner had no problem waiting and got a second marshmallow. Benson wasn't to happy when he didn't get his but saw Tanner getting one.

It was fun to watch them. I was making dinner and acted like I wasn't paying any attention at what they were doing but occasionally peeking over my shoulder to see what they were doing. Tanner yelled upset, "Mom Benson just ate his!" as he glared at Benson when Benson decided to give in.

Getting big!

I have a picture of Tanner at this age in the same jammies and hat but couldn't find it in my files to compair then, but if you look at my blog 2 years ago you'll see it. So cute!

Ho Ho Ho!

Did you know there are TWO Santa's and they LOVE taking BATHS? Well it's true. Benson thinks it is the funniest thing in the world to put bubbles on his chin and "ho ho ho". He also laughes at Andrew when he shaves and says again "ho ho ho". And if you are wondering about the goggles Tanner is wearing... he goes swimming in the tub. :) So he says!

Kensley's Blessing Day!

We were lucky to have Andrew's parents fly out to be with us on this special day. Also to have my uncle Russ and aunt Deb (who live out here) be there. Thanks to the stake president to take the time to take our pictures. :)

This is actually the first blessing we have done in our own ward. It was different but nice! It was a beautiful day and Kensley looked so pretty in her dress that Grandma Peterson made for her when she was out here in August. Our family is so blessed to have Kensley in our lives and we are also so blessed to have so many family members and friends that are always there for us. Thank you!
