Tanner

Batman has to rest once in a while...

So do kids.

and keep warm

And also spend some good quality fishing time with the DADDY'S!

This last weekend there was an Air Show that our family had planned on going to until Andrew found out he had to work. We went last year and loved it so I didn't want to not go. So I decided to take the boys by myself. Driving there was kind of a hassle because they had the main roads that I knew how to get there closed. So I did lots of turn arounds on back streets. I stopped at a red light and to my left were about 30 people with PRO abortion signs picketing. Made my stomach hurt to think about it. But I rolled down my window anyway and yelled across the street, "I have two cute babies in the back seat that beg to differ!" I did see one lady smile at me. Hopefully I changed her mind and she left and got a Anti-abortion sign... but probably not! :)

Anyhow... so I get to the base and park but need to take a shuttle over to see all the planes on the ground. There was an army guy there helping and he took the stroller and I got on with the kids. We walked around and ate some lunch I packed and had a lot of fun. Until I needed to use the restroom. All they had was a ton of Port-a-Potty's with a ton of people. But I went for it anyway and asked a nice looking woman with a child to watch my kids for a second. She said yes. I told Tanner, "You don't leave with anyone and you don't leave Benson, you don't leave the stroller and don't let anyone touch it!" I hurried and found them safe and sound when I got out. After being there for 4 hours we were all tired. Tanner said he wanted to stay but I knew he was ready for a break! So we walked back to the shuttle buses to find NO ONE there to help. I was the first in line with the boys and when the bus pulled up I told Tanner to get on and save us a seat. As he turned to get on grown men where pushing passed him almost pushing him over. I knew I had to hurry. I bent down to get Benson out and realized I had no idea how I was going to do this. I stepped onto the bus leaving the stroller outside and was stopped by the driver telling me there was no more room. I quickly told her my son was already on the bus. She let me by and I walked back to find Tanner sharing a seat with a older boy. There wasn't enough room to set Benson down for Tanner to hold him so I asked another random lady to hold Benson for a second while I went to get my stroller. I had put the brake on but knew that if I didn't hurry the bus would drive off with both of my kids in it. I picked up the whole stroller and RAN to the back of the bus to put it in. Got back on the bus, got Benson and went to the back of the bus to the last open seat but then thought, "I don't want Tanner up there without me for 15 minutes surrounded by people he doesn't know!" One more man was coming on when I stopped him, grabbed Tanner and finally got seated for the ride to our car!

It really was a nice fun day until trying to get back to our car! That was a little to stressful for me!

Very cool to watch. We had actually just left the base when they started to fly so we pulled over at a store and watched for a while.

This was the only plane we went in this year because I didn't have Andrew's help. Tanner didn't seem to mind though. He still had fun!

It's supposed to be on their season premier whenever that is. Interesting fact: Each wheel has ten mini stealth's all named after real planes.

Family Pictures June 2009

Our friend Carissa took our family pictures in June and I have finally posted a few of the ones I like. I was worried that we wouldn't have any to choose from. The day we had scheduled them was probably the hottest day of the year with 100% humidity. We had to dab our faced between pictures. Thanks a ton Carissa! We love them!

Bow and Arrow

Tanner had been turning any kind of toy into a "bow and arrow" to play with when Andrew got the bright idea to make one. He cut off some branches from the bush on the side of our house and I got a string for it. It busted before I could even tie the other side so I spent a half and hour braiding a little rope. It turned out awesome. Andrew had to help Tanner the first few times to do it. But it really works and Tanner can shoot the arrows. We thought it'd be safer to keep the ends pointless, but added feathers to the back and everything.

Turns out it makes a good FHE lesson about when Nephi broke his bow. Andrew acted out hunting and everything. I wish I would have video taped it. :)

Nebraska Cornhuskers!

We love our corn on the cob.

It's one of the FEW veggies Benson will actually eat. In the store when I am buying the corn (and you shuck it there) Benson starts screaming wanting me to give him a cob to eat. I first took some pictures of Benson because I thought it was funny watching him, then Tanner wanted a picture of him and then took one of me! Great family fun!

Daddy was able to come with us a couple of times before school started.

One day we took a ride on the new Skyfari that takes you over some animals. It was fun and we plan on going again!

Days in the Garden

Since being back we are back into our old routine. Walking to the Garden's every morning and an occasional zoo visit.

These flowers are beautiful and about the size of a volleyball.

They had an artist show one weekend and had lots of people selling their paintings, jewelry, pottery, and art. It was fun to look around. I didn't have enough money to buy anything. :) But they did have some art projects for kids to do.

HOME... oh so nice!

Being home after a long trip is always nice. Although we actually would have liked to stay longer this last trip. We all had a wonderful time and wished it hadn't flown by so quickly.
