Visit from Great Grandparents and snow 12/30/10

Grandma with Mya (Camille's hopefully soon to be adopted baby) and Kensley.
My lovely Grandma and Papa Peterson. I only get to see them once a year or less. They are the kindest people. It is always a treat to see them.
I wrapped poor Benson up so tight that when he fell over he couldn't get back up. So he just layed there. Finally asking quietly, "Mom help".... it was so sad.

Crazy Uncle Doug 12/29/10

Doug was always trying to hold Kensley up in the air with one hand. She balanced pretty good but I still said he needed to do it over a bed just in case. Luckily there never was a "just in case". Look at the huge smile on her face to him.

The park 12/28/10

We walked to "Grandpa's Park" aka Panaca Elem. playground to play. My friend Nicole came and met us there. We laughed noticing the swings, merry-go-round, tires, slides are all the same from when we were kids but they have all been moved since. The kids were glad to get out and see something new.

Nicole and little Carter.
Nicole has been one of my best friends since we were 5 years old. It's crazy to think of Tanner and his little friends and being able to stay close for so long. I hope he has the best of friends just like I did!

Sunday December 26th

I am sad to say that these are the only pictures I have of ALL the Bleak gatherings in the Bleak home. Our family had a lot of good times with all the brothers, sisters, in-laws and cousins.
I am so glad Eric's girls were able to come and be in Panaca for so long. We hadn't seen them for over a year. They would pack off my kids and keep them for hours it seemed like. They are such great girls!

Christmas Day 2010

Benson woke up at about 5:30 and we just put him in bed with us and he went right back to sleep. Tanner woke up about 6:30. I had him come into our room and see if we could wake Benson up so they could go out together. Benson of all days was out to the world. So we made Tanner wait for about 15 minutes (to let Benson sleep longer) until finally we decided we would just let Tanner go see what Santa had left. Tanner knew just what was his even though he had asked Santa to surprise him. He just sat there and looked at his jet for a minute before even touching it. He went through his stocking and checked out other gifts for other people. After Tanner had been up for about 20 minutes of enjoying everything by himself he wanted everyone else to get up so we could open the other presents. Benson finally got up when he heard Santa had left toys. My family slowly made there way up to all the commotion and the unwrapping gifts began!
Benson was lucky and got to open Kensley's presents. He was so excited to open them then show her saying, "Look look... cooooool!"
Benson was so funny. He had only opened one present and then disappeared. When I asked where he went nobody knew until we could hear someone messing around downstairs. Just as I was about to jump up and see what he was getting into, he arrived back upstairs. He ran over to Andrew holding a corn on the cob poker holder thing (I don't know what they are called). He grabbed the gift he had unwrapped and started poking the back of it to open it. Saying, "Open it open it". He knew he couldn't open it himself and needed something sharp to do it with so he took the situation into his own hands. :)

Tanner got a hug G.I. Joe jet that shoots missiles. (I know I have pictures with him with it but can't find them so they must still be on my parents computer). Also some other cool stuff. Benson got Lightening McQueen everything. Kensley got a flower, blanket made by mom, and a doll.

Doug, Cliff, and Amber with my kids.
After a long FUN and exciting day the kids were worn out. Tanner fell asleep with his jet, and Colby with his guitar, Bailey decided to join the picture with her doll.

Christmas Eve night 12/24/10

The kids got to open a present Christmas Eve and it was.... jammies!
(Kensley was already alseep)
After the program our family read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and watched the church's Luke 2 video. Then off to bed!

Christmas Eve Program 12/24/10

Every year my hometown has a Christmas Eve program. It only lasts for about 30 minutes (not counting the line to see Santa). They have all the kids go stand in the front and sing as LOUD as they can so Santa can make his way to Panaca and not get lost in the fog or snow. Then two men will be on walkie talkies or cell phones trying to get a hold of him. Once the kids get singing really loud the sound of the reindeer's hooves prancing across the roof is heard (I always remember being so excited for that). Then the big man himself arrives-- that's right SANTA has time to make an appearance before getting straight to work to deliver all the toys. The picture above is Tanner smiling after hearing the reindeer land.

Tanner asking to be surprised again. Poor Benson fell asleep he was so tired and didn't care Santa was there.
Two of my cute nieces.
Aunt Robin and Kensley
Kensley was tired and done for the night after waiting an hour to let Tanner sit on Santa's lap.
Me, Susan (Young) Willingham, and Kensley
Susan was one of my best friends growing up. We hadn't seen each other in 4+ years. We have talked on the phone, but it was nice to finally see each other again.

The Bleak BUNCH!!! 12/23/10

With Grandma Terry and Grandpa Lorell headed off to New Zealand for a mission the Bleak's got together for a BIG family reunion.
Just under 60 Bleak's(Jared's family was unable to be there) from Grandma and Grandpa on down completely packed a full size school bus. We then Christmas caroled through the neighborhoods with the windows down to be heard. We stopped at the Panaca cemetery for Grandma to tell about her mom and dad who passed when she was just in her early 20's.
Crazy Grandpa who drove us around!

Grandma telling the stories

The oldest grandkid- Chelsey with the youngest- Kensley
(Sorry about the crazy eyes Chelsey, it's the only picture I had).

We then drove up to Pioche and carolled to Great aunt Ivie then to Eagle Valley and carolled to Great aunt Manetta. Then Grandpa Lorell talked about Great Grandpa and Grandma and the house grandma was born in out there in the year 1911. And some of our heritage. Next stop was the Eagle Valley cemetery where Grandpa and ma were buried. Grandma Martha past just last year after her 98th Birthday. On this day December 23, 2010 she would have been 99. There are only two great grand babies who were not able to meet her on the Bleak side-Kensley being one of them. But I am sure Grandma Martha was holding her up in heaven before she joined our family.
Following the stories a huge snowball fight broke out ( I don't know who started it) but there were snowballs flying from every direction. I took Kensley and headed for the bus only getting hit once. I enjoyed WATCHING the fight in safety.

Because there are so many in the family now the cultural hall is the only thing that will hold everyone. We spent the day eating, playing games, visiting, Christmas gift exchanging, and just having fun. I am so grateful we were able to see most of the cousins my kids don't really know because we live so far away. They loved every minute of it.

Crazy Hats 12/20/10

Grandpa brought home a couple of crazy hats for a couple of crazy NAKED kids to wear! Benson and Brycen had more fun looking at each other wear them then anything. They started running laps around my parents furniture and the ball on top would bounce. It looked hilarious!

Cute little toes!

I've painted Kensley's cute little toes a few different colors. But these are specially painted for Christmas. She was wide awake when I did them and stayed pretty still for the most part. The fun times with having a girl. (I painted Tanner's a couple times for fun when he was a little- not leaving them painted for longer then Andrew to see them for a minute).
