Mr. Cool!

Aunt Camille bought him these pj's this summer, but this is the first time he has worn them and stayed in them almost ALL DAY. He didn't want to take them off. Then he found dad's hat and got the camera for me to take some pictures. He would pose then come and look at what I had taken, then sit back down and say picture again and again. It was cute so I went along. They were almost the same picture everytime so I thought I'd only put a couple up!

We found this at Old Navy and it was only $16. He's been going around growling, so what better costume for Halloween. You get a sneak peek at what is to come in a month!!

Another day at the zoo!

He jumped on this lion before we knew where he had gone and of course didn' t want to get off!

Tanner kept sticking his hands out to touch the glass but it was further than he thought. I moved him out once and it made him feel a little to close to the "big scary monkeys".

This lion would walk back and forth along the class and would stop and stare

at us each time he turned around.

Union Pacific Trains

The top picture with all the stairs is what you have to go up to get to the trains. Tanner insisted that he go up them his self. Because we didn't have anything else to do... we let him. Going up he got about half way and decided that maybe it would be better if we carried him. The same thing happened going down.
These trains are just a block away from us. I ride my bike down to the bottom, I'm sure that if I started running those steps I could lose some serious weight! :)
The trains are the biggest or some of the biggest trains around! I don't know... there was a lot to read and Tanner just want to go and look at them!

Baseball game in August

Tanner did really good at the game. We even had two people tell us what a well behaved good little boy he was. Andrew and I enjoyed it too. It's always fun getting to do and experience new things!

Tanner playing on one of the many play structures next to our house. He is out there everyday at least a half hour. He knows its there so any time we go outside he heads that direction whether we want to go or not!

Our Puppets!

Tanner has found that moving his hand and making sounds is pretty funny. So I got out a puppet I made a few years ago for a theatre class and he thought it was the coolest thing with "button eyes". So I decided to make him his own with one of his socks. He thinks it's pretty awesome and always wants it on. Now he walks around making weird noises all of the time.

So last night Andrew told me that he had his "Receiving of the white coat ceremony" and I could come. Thanks for giving me the heads up huh?!
We went to it today and it was a very big deal. People's parents were there, others were giving and receiving flowers, and I was giving Tanner Starbursts to keep him quiet and happy.
It was in a big Catholic cathedral. At the front they had a cross with Jesus hanging in mid air making Tanner keep yelling out "Jesus... up dare, Jesus... up dare".

Kind of cute but not when they are in a middle of a speech and Tanner's voice is echoing off all the walls, but yet I couldn't help laughing.
The ceremony was set up like a graduation. The students line up and as their names are read they go up and shake the deans hand, get their picture taken, then are handed their coat where a professor puts it on them. I was trying to get a picture from behind a beam when I wondered why Andrew was taking a little longer than the other people when he walked out around the pillar and was, "Fat guy in a little coat". But in Andrew's case just in a little coat. It was so little the sleeves only went to his forearm's and it looked like it might split at the seam in the back if he was to bend down or flex.
Needless to say his face was bright red and chuckles were heard through the crowd. I tried again to snap a quick picture so he could hurry and sit down. But by having Andrew stop it let Tanner think that he wanted to go with him and started yelling for daddy.
By the end of the ceremony him and two other people realized they had been given the wrong coats not only by the size but by the names on them. Andrew was given a woman's coat, the woman had a mans that was about 250 lbs, and he had Andrew's... luckily he didn't try to flex or move in it.
Andrew's own coat looked much better on him and I got a couple of pictures! After the ceremony followed more class pictures then a luncheon and kickball. I finally got to meet some of Andrew's classmates that I have been hearing about and see who he spends his days with. It was a fun and exciting day so I thought I would share it with you!

The Henry Doorly Zoo

Tanner really enjoys going to the zoo. Andrew and I do as well. It is great and has a lot of really cool places to walk through along with the animals. Tanner doesn't like the gorilla's and will say either, "Scary monkeys" or "Scary gorilla" but loves all of the other monkeys. I think it is because the gorillas always sit next the the glass, so when we go to see them there is a big furry thing right next to Tanner starring down at him. Tanner wasn't to happy when we put him on the statue gorillas to take the picture and started shacking.

And I don't kno if you can see the bunny rabbit in the gorillas hand above, but it was alive. The gorilla was packing it around and would put it up on his back like they would a baby, it was really gentle with the bunny.... very cute!

One of my favorite places to go at the zoo is "The Jungle". I don't have any pictures because we were to excited about our surroundings. But they have rope bridges to cross, vines to walk under, it's just a very cool place to go through. We will have to take some pics to show what an awesome place it is!
