The zoo again!
This little monkey could probably fit in a mans hand. And aren't usually out in the "jungle" at the zoo, but of course the day Tanner is munching down on a sandwich they are running around above our heads and by our feet. He got about 6 inches to Tanner before Tanner freaked out and I realized he just wanted Tanner's sandwich. I hurry and grabbed it away from Tanner and the monkey soon wanted me. I tried to hide it a little bit so we could watch them without being attacked, but he was hungry and didn't' want to leave us alone. I didn't even get a good picture. The little stinkers are just to fast!
Tanner thought this guy was cool. But of course he started to walk away when I went to take the picture.
So out the the hundreds of times we have gone to the zoo, this is the first time we have seen scuba divers in the tank. Both Tanner and I and also the friends we were with thought it was pretty neat. This turtle kept getting in their way so they would push it to the other side and it just kept swimming back.
Tanner still hasn't gotten sick of going to the zoo and will sing this song EVERY time if I say we are going to go....
"We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo. How bout' you, you, you? You can come to, to, to. We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo!"
Singing time
Singing time started back up 3 weeks ago. It's just a time when the moms, kids, and sometimes dads get together on Wednesday of each week and learn new songs, have a marching band, sing with puppets, read a book, and other fun stuff kids love. Tanner went all of last year and loved it!Well this year the classes are packed. There is one at 9:15 and one at 10:15 and I guess both have lots of kids. I counted 39 kids last week. And YES it was a little crazy. I think the biggest class I saw last year was maybe 20-25. Too crazy... we will see how things go through out the rest of the year.
Fun with balloons
One of the days it was raining last week, Tanner found some balloons so we decided to try and make stuff. I attempted to make an airplane. When Andrew got home he thought it was a dog, but it was good enough for Tanner and he called it his airplane. I also made him a sword and me a flower on a stem but we gave that one to a little girl who lives across the street!Silly Tanner
Tanner always sees me feeding Benson and has wanted to feed him too. So I let him give Benson a bottle. He thought it was pretty cool and was all smiles the whole time!
Tanner was playing around the other day and hiding his toys on the side of the couch when he got quiet after a while and this is how I found him.
He woke up and saw that Benson was asleep on the couch and wanted to lay by him.
After I took his picture, he thought he needed to take mine.Friday, September 12, 2008
The Boys!
Tanner wanted to help me with the dishes so I let him mess around while I did them, then emptied the sink and filled it with clean water and random kitchen utinsils. He scrubbed them and just played around in the water for almost an hour. It gave me a brake to clean stuff up and him a lot of fun! It does get a little wet out around the sink and floor... but at least it's a clean mess!

My boys after church!Fontenelle Fair
Our ward had a fair this past Saturday and it turned out pretty good. They had all kinds of different races, pie and doughnut eating contests, fish pond, face painting, beanbag toss, waterballoon toss, corn dogs, hot pretzels, and popcorn for snacks/dinner. It was fun for the whole family. Way to go for all of those who planned it. It was fun!
Andrew and Tanner were supposed to be doing the wheelbarrow, but Tanner's a little weak in the arms and couldn't go very far so Andrew carried him upside down.
Andrew and I kicked butt on the 3 legged race and won! Hooray!
Tanner getting a motorcycle painted on his face
Jackson, Janston, and Tanner.
Tanner loves playing with these two boys, it's not until I took this picture of how much smaller Tanner is then them. They are 3 and 4, but still... Tanner needs some height!

Just the two of us!

Andrew got home early from school the other day and kept Benson so just Tanner and I could go hang out at the zoo. It was nice to spend some just one on one time with him since he hasn't really gotten it as much lately. I let him pick everything he wanted to see. And this is where he spent most of his time. He watched the ducks for at least 15 minutes. They usually don't excite him that much, but today they were bathing splashing water up over there backs and extending their wings out to skip across the water, they then lined up in a row on a branch to dry off. Tanner probably would have kept watching but I asked if he wanted to go see other things. He then spent a lot of time watching the lions and tigers and playing on the statue gorillas.
We had a lot of fun and left when he was ready to leave!
Dinner in the park!
$2 Tuesday
On Tuesday's the games are only $2 and the kids were free. So for 6 bucks our whole family got to watch a game (in our case 1/2 the game) and enjoy a cold pop! Tanner loves going and Andrew always gets him all excited to catch a foul ball. I didn't think it would be such a great idea with Benson right there. We didn't get one close to us though so we were good!

Just curious!?!
So I was wondering who is looking from Bedford Texas? And Andrew, because that was part or near his mission! If you could leave me a comment or e-mail me at jennyp_2002@yahoo.com I would be happy to solve the mystery! THANKS!
Zoo and the museum all in a days work!

We were finally able to go and see the new Butterfly exhibit at the zoo. The butterflies were truly amazing. I have never seen any so big and bright, of course I couldn't get a picture of any of them. The green one I got flying, but it would not land for me. After the zoo we didn't feel like going home yet so we went over the the Children's Museum so Tanner could show Daddy the dinosaurs.
This display was Tanner's favorite. He kept on saying, "Look at the blood mom! Aargh!" And start chopping like the dino's eating the other one were. (Makes me wonder if I should be worried?) Here are some of the other displays.

This guy put on a bubble show for the kids and Tanner thought it was the coolest thing. I tried to get Tanner making one of his "so excited faces" but I don't think this one does him justice! It looks more like, "Is he sure about doing that?"

Batman!
In the art section of the museum Tanner found what he calls "Batman glasses". He thought they were fine the way they were and didn't need to decorate them up. Mom and Dad didn't realize that a 2 cent piece of paper could bring so much excitement and hours of play. Luckily I grabbed another one just in case he ripped it. He did that night so I laminated the second one with tape!

Air Force Weekend
On Saturday August 16th our family went to the Air Force base to watch the airshow. It was pretty fun, I went to one at Nellis in Vegas when I was younger and Andrew hadn't been at all so it was cool for us all to check out all the planes and watch some of the shows. (Having kids makes it a little hard to stay to all 8 hours so we stayed for only about 2). It would have been fun to stay and watch more but wouldn't have been with 2 crying kids.
This Monster Truck was probably one of Tanner's favorite things there. He wanted to ride in it and did not get the fact that he couldn't.
This plane was HUGE inside. Very cool! If you look close you can see Andrew and Tanner on the lift going into the plane.
Planes would angle down to the ground while they were flying and "pretend shoot" making big explosions. You could feel the vibrations and heat from the BOOMS even as far away as we were. Andrew thought they were awesome!
