Making a Snowman!

The snow was finally wet enough to roll into a ball and stay there. We had tried making a snowman a few times before and the snow would be to powdery you couldn't even make a snow ball in your hands. But on Saturday the weather was okay and we began rolling away. Tanner didn't like having his hands touching the snow long enough to help roll a ball because they would get just to cold, so instead he had fun finding rocks and sticks to put on our "man".
Once the snowballs were in place Tanner put on the arms, mouth, eyes, and buttons, hat, and most important... the carrot nose. I think a bunny must have goten hungry though. We had went out shopping and when we came back the nose was gone. "Nibble, nibble, CRUNCH!"

Livin' it up at Grandma's and Papa's house

Every day we were in Panaca, Tanner was outside playing in the dirt and watching the builders work! He didn't care where mom and dad were, as long as he had the essentials... Tractors, 4-wheelers, and dirt. Tanner was out watching Papa and some builders use a jackhammer (the tool that makes the loudest noise possible) when he fell asleep on the 4-wheeler. They couldn't believe anyone could fall asleep with that much noise!

Salt Lake trip

We went up to Salt Lake for a few days to just have fun. The boys went to the Jazz vs. Celtics game and about got beat down for cheering for the Celtics! During the day the girls went shopping and the daddy's took the kids to the Discovery Museum where Tanner is dressed up. Then everyone went to Temple Square to see that lights, temple, and Nativity. It was a little cold so we had 5 angry kids. Tanner started throwing a fit until we went and saw the statue of Christ. As soon as we rounded the corner and he could the Jesus, Tanner did not make a sound and would not take his eyes off of him. I would talk to him about it, but he never responded. He just kept his eyes forward. I wish I knew what he had been thinking?! The only time I got him to look away was when I tried to take his picture. He walked back and sat down facing Christ again before I got a good shot.

Because my parents moved out of their house and into their new apartment over the garage while their new house is being built, there was no way we all would fit in it. So what did we do? Headed over to Cedar City and had it in my little brother Doug's college apartment. Andrew and I were dreading it. But it ended up being not as bad as we had thought it would be! And everyone had.... well their fair share of space.

Before the 5 kids got to open a present Camille and Amber dressed them up and had them act out the Nativity for everyone. I didn't get any pictures of it because I was video taping, but I am sure you can imagine how cute it was.

Grandma Martha's 96th Birthday Party

Grandma's birthday was on the 23rd of December, but the party was on Saturday the 22nd. Grandma told the story of her father at Christmas giving an orange to each of his children and every other child that lived in Eagle Valley an orange as well. It was the only time of year that any of them would even see an orange, let alone eat one. So it was a really special treat for everyone. Grandma in return gave each of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even great great grandchildren an orange and a dollar at her birthday party.
Songs were sung, stories were told, and hugs were shared. It was a very good party.
The wreath on grandma's head was sent by Lorell and Terry from the Marshall Islands.

Uncle James let Tanner come and work with him when we got to Panaca! If you know Tanner and tractors... you know he was in absolute HEAVEN! Every day after he would want to go and "help James" again.

We arrived in Las Vegas on Dec. 16 and after getting something to eat we headed out to see a cool little house down on East Lake Mead (a scary part of town) that is covered with lights and Christmas displays. All the kids thought it was pretty neat. Camille said last year it was even bigger and took up 3 houses and yards. Santa must be getting to old to set it all up!

Santa himself was even there. Carlaya wanted to sit on his lap and I didn't know if Tanner would dare because a few weeks earlier we had seen him in the mall and Tanner became nervous and shy. But we got in line anyway. After waiting in line we were the next ones up. I looked down to see that Tanner was gone, just in time to hear everyone else start to react. I looked towards Santa and Tanner was at his knees giving him a hug. I couldn't believe it! It was so funny, unfortunately it wasn't our turn yet and they were trying to take pictures of another family standing with him so I had to hurry and grab him back before he could say anything. When we finally got to see him, Santa gave him a candy cane and he didn't care about anything else! The hug made the trip though... too cute!

We then headed to Fremont Street to see the light show and big Christmas tree. The kids thought it too was pretty neat. The best part was when we were heading back to our cars and Tanner and Noah kept holding each others hands and walking, they even slipped in a kiss!
