Little Benson

Such a cute little man!

Scalped head! It doesn't look bad here but in person it looks worse. And he doesn't have any hair growing there weeks later.

Benson has followed his brothers example and started climbing up on the couch arm to turn on a lamp we have. One day he saw some hand sanitizer (which he loves) and thought he could reach it. Inside he fell between the couch and the cabinet and scrapped up his face and scalped part of his head. He cried for about 5 minutes before relaxing. After he chilled enough for me to look him over I saw something in his hair and thought he hasn't had any lunch yet? But it wasn't food. It was SKIN and HAIR in a HANDFUL in my hand! YUCK!!! I started to freak out when Tanner rushed in saying, "It's okay mom, his body will make a band aid with a scab. He will be all right!" Thanks to my little doctor I did calm down to realize he would be OK!!!!

oh Tanner!

I was busy putting things away when I found Tanner falling asleep on the very top stair of the stair case. Safe place to fall asleep huh?!
This is the back seat of my double stroller. Tanner thought it was pretty cool to wear it around the house. Cow-a-bung-a DUDE!

Blood... again!

Poor Benson wakes up with a bloody nose at least once a week it seems. I must not be putting enough Vaseline in his nose still. This happened in the night. I heard him kind of fussing and went in his room but didn't turn on the light. Had I, I would have noticed all this blood pouring out of his nose! It's not always this bad. Usually just blood crusty's in his nose. But still... pour little guy. I used to have the same problems! :(

Trunk picnic 3/15/10

Since it has started warming up enough the kids could go outside, Tanner has been wanting to have picnics. One day he came up to me and said, "Mom can we have a trunk picnic and eat in the back of the car?" I thought why not but knew Benson would want to and would probably make a huge mess. So I just took his whole seat out.
Tanner loved it and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Until he got to cold. So I just shut the back and they both just sat in there and finished their lunches. So easily entertained!

Bloody nose! 3/14/10

After church we laid Benson down for a nap. When I went to get him out, this is how we found him. It has been so dry with the weather starting to change that both of my boys get bloody noses all the time. I have been putting vaseline up their noses now!
The funny thing was... Benson didn't even care. He was like whats the big deal?!

Snow 3/5/10

The snow on the north side of our building just did not want to melt. So we started shoveling a little away each day, when Kj and I thought it would be cool to make a snow cave. The boys liked sitting in it for about a minute and then were done with it. It was way to cold!

Zoo with Dad! 3/5/10

Andrew doesn't get to go with us to the zoo very often. But he did this day. And I didn't even get any pictures with all of us. There was one with Andrew but it wasn't focused good. But we got a lot of good pictures of some of the animals. I will miss living so close to the zoo when we have to move. One more year at least!

Trains- March 4th

Tanner and Benson had been begging to go and see the big trains. So I took them and Tanner's two friends to go see them. It was a chilly day, so after being up there for about ten minutes I was ready to go. But all the boys including Benson begged to stay longer. We were up there for just over an hour. Doing what for that long? Ice hockey, snow painting with sticks, running around the trains getting as much energy out as they could before being stuck inside again!

Valentine's Day Eve

Every year Andrew does something for the boys and me. He says it's "his day". Since Valentine's was on Sunday this year we decided to celebrate a day early. The boys got a few little toys and glow sticks. And I got a player for my Ipod. So it called for a dance party!
Andrew has some really sweet dance moves I got on video but my videos will never upload. Plus he'd probably hate me for it!

Tanner is holding the blue and green. Benson has the orange and purple!
Benson got sick of being in the dark after a while and kept pushing a chair over to the lights and turning them on. Tanner would quickly turn them back off and push Benson away from the wall. Benson finally disappeared and I went looking for him. There was a light on over the stairs. And there he was with one of his new books sitting quietly by himself while the rest of us were in the kitchen. He looked so cute sitting there but I also felt bad for him. Andrew and I stopped playing around with Tanner to clean things up but the party went on for Tanner down in the dark basement!

Getting out of the house

Feb. 12, 2010

We went to the zoo with some friends. I have only gone to the zoo a few times this winter just because it has been so blasted cold. Benson can not get enough of it though. We need to start heading there weekly again.

Don't mess with these Dudes!

Feb. 19, 2010

Tanner is always pretending he is some kind of Superhero or bad guy. Benson is starting to realize how "cool" it is too! He loves being Tanner's side kick!

"Mom, will you take some pictures of me?"

Tanner is such a crazy goon! You've gotta love him!
If you look closely he points out different fingers in each pose! :)
Also you will notice he is in shorts and a short sleeve shirt. Only because he stayed inside the entire day did I allow him to wear it. He is obviously ready for spring. The weather outside is still freezing!

Cookie helpers

My boys LOVE to help me with whatever I am making. Not a single night goes by without both of them at the stove with me to make dinner. So my faithful helpers were there to help make sugar cookies. Tanner actually made some really good cookies and I gave away all the ones he made because they looked the best. Making him a little upset that he only got to eat one of his own. He got over it though when he realized his were the better ones.

Tanner anxiously waiting for them to finish cooking.
My hand molded masterpiece of... Batman?
Tanner knew what if was, that's what counts!

A cold January day

One COLD day in January while Benson was taking his nap Tanner and I made necklaces. Well that's what they ended up anyway. I got out all my craft stuff and asked Tanner what he wanted to make. He started stringing buttons on to a string. I thought it would be fun to do cereal. He didn't like that idea so just I did it. I ended up making a Cheerio necklace for Benson to eat (which he really enjoyed later) and Tanner turned his button masterpieces into necklaces for all of us. It was fun and took up a lot of the long cold day.

While Benson was awake I filled up the sink with soapy water and random kitchen utensils. They played at the sink for almost an hour. They left a little mess... but at least it was CLEAN.
Anyone have other fun inside ideas pass them on. From crafts to painting, forts to hide outs, baths in the middle of the day for fun, to who knows what. My ideas are running slim!
Although we had a lot of fun that day. It was a LOOONNNNGGGG day and the boys were glad to see Dad when he got home. The three of them hung out for a boys night while Mom got to relax for a bit!
